CREATED FOR PREGNANCY

These sessions are carefully structured for pregnancy, with particular attention to comfort, safety, and emotional wellbeing.

Our intention is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and deeply cared for.

A TIME FOR NURTURE

Pregnancy is a time of profound change — physically, emotionally, and mentally.
These pregnancy-specific gong sound baths are created to offer a deeply calming space where you can pause, soften, and reconnect with yourself during this special season of life.

Designed exclusively for women in their second and third trimesters, each session is a soothing, immersive sound experience that supports rest, emotional release, and nervous system calm.

A gentle space for rest, relaxation, and self-nurturing during pregnancy.

  • Use gentle, steady sound rather than sudden or intense tones

  • Are held at moderated volume levels appropriate for pregnancy

SAFETY, ALWAYS

These gong sound baths are facilitated by a registered medical doctor.

I am a GP and my practice is in Paddington, Brisbane.
I am fully registered with AHPRA and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice.

I acknowledge the depth of changes that pregnancy asks of a woman and I hold deep respect for the strength and vulnerability that coexist during this time.

I also recognise the many different ways women experience their pregnancies.
For some, it unfolds with ease, while for others it can bring times of anxiety, overwhelm, or fatigue that deserve gentle acknowledgement and support.

My intention in offering gong sound baths for pregnancy is not to medicalise a natural process, but to create a calm, supportive space where women can rest, connect with themselves and their baby, and feel held in an atmosphere of safety and calm.

My approach to how the sessions are designed and run is always primarily safety-focused, respectful and nurturing - the same principles I apply to my medical practice.

These sessions are offered as a nurturing pause — a way to soften the nervous system, ease stress, and honour the profound journey of becoming a mother.

  • A part of your antenatal care

  • A medical treatment

  • A substitute for care from your midwife, GP, or Obstetrician.

No medical advice, pregnancy guidance, or antenatal care is provided during the sessions. You will remain under the care of your usual maternity healthcare providers throughout your pregnancy.

Who should attend pregnancy sound baths?

These sessions are offered to women who are in their second or third trimester of pregnancy.
They are not suitable for the first trimester.

Why are sessions not offered in the first trimester?

The first trimester is a period of rapid physiological change.
Out of an abundance of caution, and in keeping with a safety-first approach, sound baths are offered only once pregnancy is more established.

These gong sound baths are offered solely for relaxation, self-care, and wellbeing.

What to bring?

As your body shape changes during pregnancy, it's even more important to make sure you're completely comfortable.

I recommend bringing as much as you possibly need to make yourself completely comfortable lying on the floor.
This would include a cushion for your head, possibly a cushion under your tummy and possibly a cushion between your knees or under your legs.

Remember that as your tummy gets bigger, it's essential to not spend a lot of time lying on your back. I recommend that during sound baths, all pregnant woman (particularly after 24 weeks) lie on their side, preferably the left side as this removes the risk of the weight of the baby pressing on the large blood vessels in your pelvis.
