Information about Gong Baths
What is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is a structured, immersive relaxation experience designed to support deep rest and stress reduction.
You will lie comfortably on the floor in a quiet calm space while a sequence of carefully selected sounds from low-frequency instruments such as gongs and didgiridoo wash over you.
It requires no effort or active participation.
The calming sounds and palpable vibrations help quieten cognitive noise, soften physical tension, and create the conditions for calmness.
A sound bath offers a rare opportunity to disengage from problem-solving and internal chatter and to fully relax.

Who can attend a Sound Bath?
Anyone can attend.
If you feel you could do with some calm down-time then it's for you!
You are welcome to invite your partner or friends.
Children over 16 are welcome.

How should I prepare for a Sound Bath?
Wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat or blanket to lie on during the session.
Personally I find a yoga mat a bit thin for true comfort for a whole hour and so I use a folded blanket or doona.
Bring whatever you need to be comfortable - blankets/ pillow/ water. Some people bring inflatable beds!

What if I need to move or go to the bathroom?
Of course you can move if you need to.
Sometimes we need to change position in order to be comfortable.
I recommend lying down to maximise relaxation but if you prefer to sit thats's fine too. We just ask that you are mindful of others around you and try to create as little disturbance as possible.
There is always a bathroom avaialble.

Is prior experience needed?
Absolutely not. You will not be asked to do anything you have not done before - ie lie down and get comfortable!
Just come ready to relax and enjoy the experience.

How long is a Sound Bath?
The Sound Bath lasts one hour .

Is a Sound Bath a medical treatment?
No not at all.
This is not a medical treatment .
If you have any health concerns then I recommend that
you consult your regular doctor.
A Sound Bath is for relaxation, calmness and wellbeing.
